About Frances
Artist. Teacher. Writer.

As an art teacher, my aspirations for my students go far beyond drawing, painting and sculpture.

“I would love to think that all of my students were going to grow up and be wonderful artists. I don’t know about that,” I would say as a teacher at Falcon Creek Middle School. “What I do know is that they’ll all grow up to be global citizens. I want to give them a deeper understanding of the world around them by letting them experience it through the artistic medium.” Students would learn about cultures, history and literature through exciting art projects.

As a writer, I am the author and co-author of three books in the series Creating Art for All Ages (www.creatingartforallages.com)
Creating Art For all Ages is a three-book series that offers a unique curriculum guide for educators and parents. Learners are engaged by using a process of exploration, discovery, and creativity to examine civilizations and different cultures throughout time with connections to art, literature, science, and social studies. These books provide an invaluable experience that opens up a broader understanding of the world and humanity.

I continually stretch my creativity in writing to contribute to the circle of children’s’ literature

As an artist, I cannot tell you why I create art. It must be in my DNA. For as long as I can remember, I was drawing, sculpting and painting. I would observe things in detail and recall events, places and people visually. It is a passion and it is like a continual conversation I have with the world. It is the way I can communicate and express ideas and feelings in a personal manner.

In essence, I endeavor to exuberate joy, beauty, play and happiness with the celebration of colors, shapes, lines and textures.
